< Previous166 Pride and poise The Music Program was an essen-tial part of the daily routines of Burnsville High School life. Its dif-ferent forms and varying "styles of music had something for every student. For traditional band stu-dents there were the Sophomore and Symphonic Bands. For the more outgoing students, there .,. ·,~,' , L. Squires B. Johnson S. Westerlund C. Ohlenkamp were other activities, such as the marching band which marched out during the halftime of football games and · entertained the crowds. In Wind Ensemble the students' abilities were · chal-lenged by difficult pieces of music. The Jazz Ensemble added class by their fancy productions of well-known tunes. Pep band also enthused the crowds during the many sports activities that took place during the year. K. Fullerton N. Hartman W. Beehler W. C_aris G. Goodman R. Menk J. Hulbert J. Cooper J. Green J . They seldom received r_ecognition for their work. All of t heir work was done behind the scenes help-ing to prepare the teachers for their daily routine. They make the teachers ' job just a little bit easier A\.11 l[)IE~ C. Auron Bus. Ed. E. Berdan Ind. Ed. I by doing little helpful jobs. Their typing, filing, xeroxing, and other jobs were essential to the students and teachers. Nobody ever real-ized how impor t ant the aides' jobs were until those days when one of the aides was sick. On those days nothing ever got done in the office because no one was able to fill the aide's job . A teacher said "It was on days like that that I realized how much I missed them." N. Abicht Soc. The nurses also provided services such as vision, hearing and blood pressure checks. You didn't have to go to the nurses' office j ust for medical attention. You could get a warm friendly smile, a happy thought and pretty good advice. J. McGee Math / Science P. Smith Clerical J. Neubert Math/Science S. Swanson Clerical J . Palm Clerical S. Thomas Lang. The custodians kept the school running smoothly. After a heavy rain the puddles on the floor don't magically evaporate, nor do gar-bage cans empty themselves. In the early morning and late after-noon the custodians are at school cleaning and preparing the build-ing for the students and staff. Sit back for a minute and imagine G. Schultz I what the school wou Id be Ii ke without them. The hallways would be cluttered . with gum wrappers and old worksheets. The windows would become dirty and smeared. The whole school would have taken on a dingy, musty look. So as you can see, custodians do a variety of jobs from cleaning hall-ways to unjamming lockers. On the next typical Monday morning when your locker is jammed and a good solid kick doesn't work, just call a custodian. M. Bieber M. Boonstron D. Geyen A. Riebel ' S Wallace S. Brown A. Busse K.
