District 94 schoolNathan Cooley writes:
I painted this winter scene of the abandoned one room school house located on the north side of Co. Road 42 near Nicollet in my 1973 BHS art class (water color and India ink). The school was vacant and was slated to be torn down. My mother later went and recovered material from the demolished windows to frame the painting. I chose the black ink to represent the unknown import of knowledge sorbed within those walls by the many students who attended the school and would later become known as the greatest generation.
