Types of employment varied from salesperson to secretary to fast -food cook to clerk. Although thousands of dollars were amassed, holding a job while school was on had its pros and cons. Working late hours and on holidays were certainly cons, but they were balanced by pros which included work expe-rience and money . Nicholson, Donald D. Nicholson, Jama L. Niemann, Susan L. The winter weather made students feel closed in; this sometimes led to depression. There never was a sure cure for boredom. It may have been caused by personal feelings of isola-tion or it may have just been passing feelings of discontent. Either way, for most students it did pass and the future looked bright again. • ---------------------------------------------------,, 108 Olson, Robin J. Olson, Sandy J. Olson, Scott L. Glasses were important fashion accessories . A multitude of frame shapes and styles appeared. Unlike the old styles, the new were made or fitted to compliment each individual's face . They were made large to accent the eyes. The pastel and tortoise shell designs and colors were coord i nated with the year's fashions. In all, the pur-pose of wearing glasses hadn't changed, but the idea had. Rossler, Robert E. Roszak, Gerald J. Roszak, Vicki A. Rotthoff, Micheal A. Rudolf, Karen A. f3upp, Kathie J. In every school year there are nine months , each month containing 4.3 weeks, each week containing one Fri-day. Throughout the school y_ear Fri-day was the favorite day of the week. Friday meant escape from chemistry exams and documented expository writings. It also meant recreation. What did average students do on a Fri-d a y night ? Many attended movies such as National Lampoon's Animal House, Up in Smoke, or Foul Play with Chevy Chase. Besides movies some weekend entertainment included par-ties, rock concerts, discos and maybe a sport event. Schmidgall, Christine Schoen berger, Timothy Schoenecker, Michelle Schoepke, Daniel D. The main choices were; get a full time job or bum around for awhile. Depending on the individual's choice, a period of relaxation either followed or preceded a burst of enthusiastic hard work; or, in some cases, more relaxa-tion. Preparing for preparation was the theme. Seniors, who had deluded themselves that somehow the business of get-ting ready was nearing an end, were wrong. Theroux, Mark J. Thompson, Mark A.
