Rita Driscoll Marilyn Kepner 129 1965 SCIENCE FAIR Parents, students, and teachers have always been interested in seeing achieve-ment in the field of scholastic ability by means of an exhibit of completed work. A Science Fair is an exhibition of sci en -tific work developed and displayed by the students. This year's regional Science Fair entrees from the senior high were Mark Wilson, Sue Olson, Don Flick, Kathy Brown, Steve Grovender, and Bonnie Boudreau. Mark Wilson was the local sweepstakes winner. 130 SPEECH CONTESTS Speech students working in speech competition during the 1964-65 school year earned more awards and partici-pated in more contests and festivals than ever before in the history of Burns-ville High School. The season began in late Oc tober with the annual St. Cloud State College Fall Speech Festival. Ron Guernsey, a senior at Burnsville, received one of the highest awards at the festival com -peting with over 400 other students from schools all over Minnesota. Con-tests and festivals continued thru May and included individual competition at White Bear Lake, Stillwater, West St. Paul, Lakeville, Farmington, St. Paul Park, Kellogg, and Hamline University. More than sixty awards were earned by Burnsville students with special recognition going to Rita Driscoll for winning an "A" rating in the final com -petition of the Minnesota State Speech Contest at Hamline University. GYMNASTICS _, 132 Mrs. Leider and her girls worked many long and hard hours on their gymnastic stunts. They brought much recogni-tion to our School.
