We believe it fulfills the qualifications of a _truly outstanding school . It is an institution of learning staffed with a competent faculty which makes definite demands upon its stu -dents. It is to Mr. Richard Hanson, teacher, helper and friend, that we dedicate the 1963 KOTKA. Since Mr. Hanson came to Burnsville three years ago, he has been very ac -tive in community and educational af-fairs. His mathematics classes are enjoyable not only because of his sense of humor, which he injects into every class period, but also because of his fine teaching. After school Mr. Han -son can be found helping puzzled stu-dents or carrying out his duties as assistant football coach. · As spring nears, he busily prepares for the an-nual science fair. He is extremely busy in the final days before the science fair helping frantic students Pl!t the final touches on their projects. If Mr. Hanson isn't working on some project, he is attending band concerts, athletic games, and chorus concerts. In his spare time, he can be found with his wife Phyllis and their three children or taking part in his favorite pastimes, golf, reading, and playing the piano. It is because of his sincere interest in Burnsville that we dedicate the 1963 KOTKA to Mr. Hanson. 2 F A C u L T. r WILLIAM BEEHLER Art j ETHEL BUCHAN English JOAN GALLERY History--Latin ADMINJSTRA TION SCHOOL BOARD: Patrick Connelly, Warren Smith, William Williams, John Met-calf, Leonard Shafer, Burton Fosse.
