Abdallah Candy 1909In 1909, Abdallah's opened its first location at Lake St. & Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis. Albert and Helen Abdallah sold candy, cut flowers, cigars and fruit from their corner store. It later relocated to Burnsville and since expanded to have locations also in Apple Valley.

The company had outgrown its facility at 38th and Cedar in Minneapolis, when they found land at 12220 12th Avenue South. (It would be across from the Burnsville Bowl and next door to the Post office).

Abdallah Candy outgrows building 1996The Burnsville This Week/Dakota County Tribune December 15, 1996 reports that Abdallah plans to build a 35,000 square foot manufacturing and retail facility on County Road 42 and Burnsville Parkway which will double the space in which the companies 60 employees produce some 200 varieties of candy.

Abdallah leaving Burnsville 2021Then 1966 - September 29, 1966 Dakota County Tribune: Abdallah, established in 1909 in Minneapolis, arrives in Burnsville 1966. The 12,000 square foot building housing Abdallah candy company in Burnsville is located in the River Wood Industrial Park on Highway 13. They then moved to the building on 12th Avenue, near the Post Office, left there and moved to County Road 42. Eventually they expanded and moved their factory to an Apple Valley location. Now 2021 - The Burnsville location, County Road 42 closing.
